La vitamine C, aussi appelée acide ascorbique, est un actif naturel présent dans de nombreux fruits et légumes. En cosmétique, elle est utilisée pour son puissant pouvoir antioxydant : elle neutralise les radicaux libres responsables du vieillissement cutané et stimule la production de collagène.

The benefits of vitamin C for the skin

Why apply it at night?
Pure vitamin C (or L-ascorbic acid) is an unstable molecule. Sensitive to air, especially light, it oxidizes quickly, losing much of its effectiveness. Even when included in a daytime product with sunscreen filters, its antioxidant potential is reduced upon exposure to UV rays. Stabilized derivatives of vitamin C are now used to overcome this fragility. Thus, the vitamin C precursor used in the night radiance cream transforms into active vitamin C thanks to the skin’s natural enzymes (esterases), preventing cellular oxidation.
